Youth Gold Cup weekend: medals, trophies and a sea of green

Crush F.C. from Burlington, Ontario, travelled to the Youth Gold Cup on September 7 and 8, 2026. Players filled the weekend with sprints, saves, celebrations and team photos with silverware. Here is the story of those two days, told through the moments our families will remember.

Crush players lift the trophy together

Some weekends feel big from the first whistle. The Youth Gold Cup was one of them. Crush players wore the green hooped kit, chased every ball and gave their families plenty to cheer about from the touchline.

How did the weekend start?

It started early, with laced boots and warm ups in the morning sun. That is discipline in action, one of our four values. Players arrived ready, listened to their coaches and stepped onto the field with a clear plan. By the first kickoff, the nerves had turned into energy.

The work rate stood out all weekend. Players pressed together, recovered together and kept going in the closing minutes of every game. When one player lost the ball, two teammates were already sprinting back to help.

What did the evening games look like?

The evening games were played in golden light. As the sun dropped low over the fields, the matches only got more intense. Our goalkeepers threw themselves at shots, our defenders stretched to win the ball, and our forwards kept looking for the next chance.

Play with energy and joy, and keep practising at home.

Trophies held high

The photos from the presentations say it all. There were medals around necks, a trophy lifted by many hands and smiles that lasted the whole drive home. Every player who wore the Crush shirt that weekend earned the moment through teamwork.

You can relive every moment in the Youth Gold Cup photo album, shared with parent media consent and without player names.

What came next for Crush?

The Youth Gold Cup was the perfect warm up for our first winter season. From October, our 8 teams play in the Game Awareness Youth Super League and the Dynasty Premier Soccer League, with 18 guaranteed games each through April. Our players also traded the green hoops for the new neon yellow kit.
