The Crush Way

The Crush Way is how Crush F.C. in Burlington, Ontario, develops young soccer players. Players born 2017 and 2018 learn the game in 7v7, with lots of touches on the ball. Players born 2015 and 2016 move to 9v9, where they learn positions, decisions and team shape, always in a positive and demanding environment.

Players focus on ball mastery, confidence in 1v1 situations, passing and receiving, and having fun with the ball.

  3. The 9v9 years: born 2015 and 2016

Players learn positions, combinations, pressing together, and decision making under pressure.

  • Born 2015 and 2016

    9v9

Each team has 9 players on the field on a bigger pitch. Players start to learn positions and team shape, and they make more decisions under pressure. It is the step toward the full field game.

Questions about the Crush Way

What is the difference between 7v7 and 9v9 soccer?

In 7v7, each team has 7 players on the field, including the goalkeeper, on a smaller pitch with smaller goals. Every child touches the ball often and gets lots of 1v1 moments. In 9v9, each team has 9 players on a bigger pitch, so players learn positions, combinations and team shape. At Crush F.C., players born 2017 and 2018 play 7v7.

When do Crush F.C. players move from 7v7 to 9v9?

Crush F.C. players move to 9v9 as they get older. In the 2026/27 season, players born 2015 and 2016 play 9v9, and players born 2017 and 2018 play 7v7. The extra space and teammates in 9v9 suit older players who are ready to think about positions, team shape and decisions under pressure.

How often does my child train with Crush F.C.?

Training runs 1, 2 or 3 times a week, depending on your child's program. The Entry Program has 1 session a week and the Full Program 9v9 has 3, with options in between.
