What happens at an evaluation?
Your child joins a relaxed session with a coach and players of the same birth year. Coaches watch ball skills, movement, decisions and attitude in drills and small games. Upcoming dates are shared on the tryouts and evaluations page and by email when you register interest.
What do coaches look for?
Coaches look at the whole player. Skill matters, and so do attitude, effort and the way a player treats teammates.
- Comfort with the ball at both feet
- Decisions under pressure
- Effort when the ball is lost
- Communication and encouragement of teammates
- Willingness to try new things and learn from mistakes
What should my child bring?
Bring indoor or turf shoes, shin guards, a water bottle and comfortable training clothes. Arrive about 15 minutes early to check in, so your child has time to settle before the session starts.
How can I help my child feel confident?
Remind your child to have fun, try their best and help teammates. Coaches value effort, listening and attitude as much as skill. Keep the drive home positive whatever the outcome, and ask what they enjoyed most.
When will we hear about placement?
The club contacts every family after evaluations with a team and program recommendation. Placement can change during the season as players grow and develop.
